Common Refrigerator Questions

Q: My refrigerator isn’t cooling properly. What could be wrong?

A: Several issues could cause this: dirty condenser coils, faulty door seals, problems with the compressor, or refrigerant leaks. Our technician will diagnose the specific cause during the service call.

Q: Why is my refrigerator making strange noises?

A: Unusual noises can be caused by a failing compressor, fan motor issues, or loose components. These should be addressed promptly to prevent further damage.

Q: How often should refrigerator coils be cleaned?

A: We recommend cleaning refrigerator condenser coils every 6-12 months to maintain efficiency, food preservation, and prevent overheating.

Q: What is the best temperature setting for my Sub-Zero’s optimum efficiency?

A: Sub-Zero recommends that your refrigerator be set at 38 degrees, and 0 degrees in the freezer.

Q: What routine maintenance should I do for my Sub-Zero refrigerator, ice machine, or Scotsman ice machine?

A: To ensure your appliances last as long as they can, manufacturers recommend that you clean your refrigerators and ice machines at least twice a year or have this done once a year by a Factory Certified technician. For your convenience, Seasonal Comfort offers both a refrigerator condenser cleaning and service program and an ice machine clean and service program that will help maintain your appliances. Our Factory Certified technician will come to your home to thoroughly clean your appliances and conduct a comprehensive inspection to ensure that your units are performing at their optimal efficiency.

Q: I prefer to clean the condenser myself. What’s the best way to do this?

A: Sub-Zero offers a step-by-step instructional video to guide you through each step of properly cleaning your unit’s condenser.

Common Dishwasher Questions

Q: My dishwasher isn’t cleaning dishes properly. What’s wrong?

A: This could be due to clogged spray arms, improper loading, a malfunctioning water inlet valve, or issues with the water temperature. Our technician can identify and resolve the specific cause.

Q: Why is my dishwasher leaking?

A: Leaks commonly result from damaged door gaskets, loose connections, faulty water inlet valves, or a clogged drain line. Having leaks repaired immediately is essential to prevent damage to your flooring and surrounding cabinets.

Q: My dishwasher won’t drain completely. What should I check?

A: Check for food debris in the filter or drain hose. If cleaning these doesn’t resolve the issue, you may have a faulty drain pump or control board that requires professional repair.

Common Oven and Range Issues

Q: My oven isn’t heating to the correct temperature. Why?

A: This could be due to a faulty thermostat, temperature sensor, heating element, or control board. Accurate diagnosis requires professional testing equipment.

Q: Why won’t my gas burners light?

A: Common causes include clogged burner ports, faulty ignition switches, or problems with the gas supply. Our technicians are certified to safely diagnose and repair gas appliance issues.

Q: What warranties come with my Sub-Zero?

A: Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove offer some of the highest-rated residential warranties in the industry.
